In 2025, the Laiwu district of Jinan faced the most severe rainy season in recent years. According to official reports from the Jinan Meteorological Observatory and the Shandong Provincial Climate Center, the 2025 flood season began in late June and lasted through early September, with the rainy period extending over 70 days — nearly two weeks longer than the annual average.

More extreme still, mid-July to mid-August saw the most concentrated period of heavy rainfall, with multiple torrential rain events. Among them, the July 20–23 downpour set a historical record, with a maximum hourly rainfall of 103.3 mm. The technology uses specialty polymer composite resins and bridging modifiers to form a dense film layer with self-healing, waterproof, erosion-resistant, and tear-resistant properties, effectively withstanding heavy-load rolling and extreme weather erosion.

Ponding and mud prevention: The road surface remained smooth and passable after rain, with excellent drainage performance.
