As a major domestic steel production base, Laiwu Steel Group’s factory haul roads have the following characteristics:

Extreme loads: Frequent passage of heavy transport vehicles exceeding 100 tons.

Heavy traffic: Requires short construction periods and minimal curing time.

Complex environment: High temperatures, spillage, and impact factors accelerate road aging and damage.

The original road structure could no longer meet current usage demands, with severe structural damage requiring an innovative solution to fundamentally improve road load-bearing capacity and service life.

Our Solution: Flexible Film-Forming Technology

Based on site surveys and rigorous evaluation, the Goodroad technical team recommended and applied Goodroad Flexible Film-Forming Technology, specially designed for heavy-load traffic, for the current condition of Laiwu Steel’s haul roads.

Core Advantages of Flexible Film-Forming Technology:

(1) Self-healing and self-growing function: Flexible polymer resin and bridging modifiers form a powerful film layer that binds dust and soil into a membrane that gradually thickens, with self-repair capability.

(2) The film, composed of specialty composite polymer resins, resists water immersion, sun exposure, tearing, and heavy rolling.

(3) In dry season heat, the film layer still prevents dust raised by wheel rolling and airflow disturbance.

(4) During rainy weather, the film layer prevents water ingress and maintains good road surface condition.

(5) In winter low temperatures, the film layer prevents ground cracking or ice formation that causes slipping.

(6) Fast construction, simple maintenance, low maintenance cost, environmentally friendly materials.

(7) Green and environmentally friendly. Will not corrode equipment or vehicles, nor harm roadside plants, safe even in environmentally sensitive areas.

(8) Good economics: Goodroad flexible film roads cost less than equivalent-grade pavement. Mine waste can also be used as base material, replacing traditional road-building materials, reducing construction costs with significant economic and ecological benefits.

(9) Traffic can open the day after construction completion. Does not affect the economic benefits of road service targets.

(10) Simple, fast maintenance: Mix, fill, compact — traffic opens immediately after maintenance, no curing period needed.

(11) Reusable: Goodroad pavement can be crushed and removed after disposal, returned to farmland (easy reclamation), and the material can be reused with added solution.

(12) Service life: 10–15 years.

(13) Low-carbon, energy-saving, and emission-reducing: The application of new organic materials replaces traditional inorganic cementitious materials like cement, with clear advantages in energy conservation and emission reduction.

Compression resistance: No visible indentations or rutting after traffic opening.

Excellent smoothness: Road flatness far exceeded standard requirements, improving driving comfort.

Dust suppression effect: PM10 and PM2.5 dust suppression rate ≥90% by wind tunnel testing, TSP dust suppression rate ≥90% by on-site dust monitor under traffic conditions.

After project completion, the road section was quickly put into use and withstood continuous heavy-load vehicle testing. Inspection showed no visible surface deformation and perfect operating condition, fully meeting design targets.
